Short Bio
Vera La Ferrara received her M.S. degree in physics from the University of Naples “Federico II,” Naples, Italy, in 1994. Since 2000, she is currently a permanent researcher in UTTP-MDB, Department of Basic Materials and Devices, in ENEA (Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment) Research Center, Portici, Italy. She is responsible/co-responsible for national and regional projects. She is co-author of five patents and 35 scientific papers published in international peer reviewed journals. Over 30 International and national conference presentations (as poster and as oral) have been presented. She is currently a referee of international journals. She is also a supervisor of M.S. and B.S. degrees in physics and engineering of materials, Ph.D. students and ENEA international fellowship researchers. Her main research interests are chemical and electrochemical techniques for porous silicon and nanostructured materials fabrication. Currently, she works on nanomachining and morphological analysis through focused ion beam. She works on the fabrication and characterization of sensors based on nanowires, innovative and heterojunction solar cells, optical fibers..
