SCHMID Martina

Head of the Young Investigator Group Nanooptical Concepts for Photovoltaics Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie, Germany
professor @ FUB
Short Bio
Martina Schmid studied physics at the University of Augsburg and obtained her PhD from the Free University Berlin (FUB) in cooperation with the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB). After post-doctoral research stays at the University of Ljubljana and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), she started a Helmholtz Young Investigator Group at HZB in 2012. Since 2013 she also holds a Junior Professorship on “Nanooptical Concepts for Solar Cells” at the FUB-Freie Universität Berlin. The focus of the research team is on internal (e.g. plasmonics) and external (i.e. microconcentrators) absorption enhancement for Chalcopyrite solar cells.
