Eivind Øvrelid graduated as civil engineer in metallurgy (1991)  and a Phd  in 1998 from NTNU, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology. His field of expertise is refining of metals, casting and characterization.  He is now working as Research Director for the PV Silicon department in SINTEF Materials and Chemistry sector. He works as an associated assistant professor at NTNU with responsibility for materials for PV applications.
